Bob Johnson and Realistic Engineering Analysis Ltd
Bob Johnson, a former Technical Director of DAMT Ltd, is a NAFEMS registered analyst and has worked in FE-based consultancy since 1981.
“Realistic Engineering Analysis Limited” (REAL) was created on 4th February 2013 and started trading as REAL on 1st March 2013. The company was set-up to provide (or enable) highly-realistic Finite Element Analysis (FEA) simulation through the provision of consultancy (and training). Consultancy can be carried out as either a fixed-price or a time-and-materials project – please refer to the Consultancy page for more information. The “flagship” training course offered by REAL is entitled “Practical Stress Analysis and Finite Element methods” – refer to the Training page for more information. The company is named in memory of John Horspool who died in November 2011. John worked for Messier-Bugatti-Dowty until the time of his death: he was a superb engineer and all his computer simulation was designed to mimic REALITY as faithfully as possible.
Both recognised that meaningful constraints was the most troublesome area of FEA for most people. John put lots of excellent functionality into his “Roshaz” program – functionality that is still ahead of its time today.
